JiVitA, a maternal and child health and nutrition research project of Johns Hopkins University in Bangladesh (JHUB) operating in Gaibandha District, registered with the Government of Bangladesh NGO Affairs Bureau, is seeking qualified applicants for the following post: Research Physician Educational Requirements: M.B.B.S Preference given to candidates with MPH or Public Health/Research experience. Experience Requirements: Minimum 2 year(s) Additional Job Requirements: Willingness to live and work in Gaibandha District Possess and/or willingness to develop and apply skills in the conduct of field epidemiological, behavioral, social and intervention studies addressing health, nutrition, growth and development of children, adolescents and women Good oral and written Bangla and English communications skills in topical areas of clinical medicine, biological sciences and public health Demonstrated computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Willingness to participate in clinical reviews of causes of mortality from verbal autopsies to assign infant and maternal causes of death Assume responsibilities whenever assigned by Project to lead and manage specific scientific initiatives Ability to work efficiently in a professional manner under pressure to meet deadlines. Excellent organizational skills and  self-motivated Willingness to ride a motorcycle (training provided, if inexperienced) Previous clinical experience collecting biological specimens (e.g., blood, stools, etc), and managing adverse events following antibiotic therapies and reactions to vaccination will be favorably considered The project will provide necessary training to the selected applicants. Salary is competitive and commensurate with relevant experience.
