Manager - National Fundraising

Job Summary

The Manager National Fundraising is to explore fundraising opportunities for ActionAid Bangladesh (AAB), to assist program to identify potential high value donors (corporate, trust and foundation and wealthy philanthropist) and design projects and develop concept notes and project proposals for the purpose of fundraising and to provide support to and build linkages with programmatic areas of AAB, child sponsorship supporter marketing team in the global secretariat  and international high value team. The position holder is also required to prepare donor reports and responses of donor quires and carry out training for capacity building of partner organizations on necessary issues. The Manger National Fundraising will be responsible for initiating child sponsorship in Bangladesh. The person will closely work with Manager Child Sponsorship and Manager Program and Partnership Development of AAB.

Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):

1. High Value Market Development

Assist DD-RM in development and implementation of High Value fundraising strategy
Develop and implementation of high value fundraising plan
Explore funding opportunity in local market through proper donor scoping
Facilitate need assessment study and develop project ideas, concept notes and funding proposals and donor reports
Develop and implement Happy Home, Shapla Kuri Child Development Center and Chanpara Community Clinic fundraising strategy and plan
2. Child Sponsorship Supporter Marketing

Commission market assessment study to identify scope and opportunity for in-country child sponsorship in Bangladesh
Develop in-country supporter marketing strategy for AA Bangladesh
Design in-country supporter marketing program in Bangladesh
Recruit supporter marketing team and building their capacity
Kickoff in-country supporter marketing program in Bangladesh
3. Liaise with and provide support to and build linkages with programmatic areas of AAB, CS Supporter marketing and individual Donors

Assist DD-RM to share plan and progress of routine activities
Maintain working relation with AAB themes and priority
Maintain working relationship with AAI high value fundraising team and supporter marketing team
Maintain donor communications
Assist DD-RM to organize and facilitate bimonthly Project Manager’s (PM) meeting
Act as High value fund raising focal in Bangladesh
Establish and maintain working relationship with Manager Partnership and Program Development and Manager Child Sponsorship in AAB
Relationships

S/he will report to Deputy Director – Resource Mobilisation of ActionAid Bangladesh.

Expected Deliverables

S/he has to maintain functional relationship with his/her peers in the team, strategic and organisational priority team and project management team.
S/he will also Maintain liaison and networking in ActionAid International / Federation and other Country Programmes etc.
Required Qualifications and Experience

At least a Post-Graduate Degree.
At least 5 years of years of working experience in Child Sponsorship supporter marketing (recruitment of child sponsor) and high value fund raising (CSR, trust, foundations and wealthy individuals) in a reputed civil society organization and/or private sector, with a proven track record of developing proposals those have successfully secured large amounts of funding.

Strategic decision-making ability.
Knowledge and experience on participatory tools including problem analysis, visioning, risk assessment, logical framework, team building and building partnership.
Excellent facilitation and advisory skills.
A commitment to develop, promote and practice ActionAid’s vision, mission, values and strategy.
Negotiation skill and motivational skill is required.
Should be gender sensitive and familiar with Human Rights Based Approach.
Ability to meet deadline and income target under extreme pressure.
Good interpersonal skills.
Technical Skills

Good communication and report writing skills to communicate to a variety of audiences both in English and Bangla.
Experience of and ability to build strong relationships with donors
Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications.
Planning and Budgeting skills.
Excellent writing and research skills and high level of computer literacy are necessary.
Excellent knowledge and experience of proposal development and logical framework approaches are required.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently is mandatory.
